Sin City is famous for its incredible entertainment scene. With a variety of casinos, restaurants, and shows available throughout the year, there is definitely no shortage of things to do during your trip to Las Vegas.
To add on to Las Vegas’ already stacked entertainment options, many of the world’s biggest stars from past and present currently have residencies in Las Vegas.
If you aren’t aware, a residency is simply an agreement to perform a series of concerts at a specific location — like a tour, but only in one place. These agreements are sometimes for a set amount of shows but are also often open-ended. Residencies have been a staple of the Las Vegas entertainment scene for decades.
Check out a few of the stars who are set to perform in Las Vegas throughout 2019.
The 24K Magic singer is one of the biggest pop stars in the world and is sure to attract visitors from around the country during his 2019 residency.
Bruno Mars previously had a residency at the Cosmopolitan in 2013 and 2014 and has recently announced a 2019 residency to last 11 shows.
Mars’ shows, which span from April 29 to September 14, will all take place at the Park Theater, which has hosted many other stars such as Cher and Lady Gaga.
Lady Gaga began her residency at the Park Theater in late 2018 and will continue in 2019. The massive star, who recently won an Oscar for the song “Shallow,” is set to perform two unique shows.
Enigma is the first of the shows which features Gaga’s pop hits while Jazz & Piano is a more relaxed show which features stripped down versions of her hits along with covers of classic songs like “Fly me to the Moon” by Frank Sinatra.
Gaga said about the show, “It will be a celebration of all that is unique and different within us. The challenges of bravery can be overcome with creativity and courage that is grown out of adversity, love and music.”
Cardi B had a big year. She had multiple chart-topping singles, like “Finesse [Remix]” with Bruno Mars, and won a Grammy for her debut album, Invasion of Privacy.
To add onto this success, it was announced that Cardi B will perform in her first Las Vegas residency at KAOS — a day club and nightclub that will open in April.
Drake, who dominated the charts in 2019 with singles like “In My Feelings,” was confirmed in January to have signed a residency deal worth over $10 million.
This residency will take place at the XS Nightclub in the Wynn casino and hotel. Drake initially hinted at the deal at a show at the nightclub when he told the crowd, “I’ll be back here at XS all year. You’ll have a lot of chances to see me.”
The official announcement is yet to come, so tickets are not yet on sale, but keep your eyes peeled as they are sure to sell out quickly.
Among many of the current stars that hold Las Vegas residencies, the legendary rock band Aerosmith is set to perform at the Park Theater beginning in April.
During an appearance on the Today show, Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry said, “We want to bring a show that still has Aerosmith and all the guts of Aerosmith, but has a whole other element to it that we haven’t been able to do before.”
These are just some of the many major performers who are set to put on shows in Vegas throughout the year. If you are planning a trip to Vegas, be sure to check out some of these incredible residencies while you’re there.
